Project Mirchi Wada's.

In my quest to become something close to a cook I decided to make something that I really enjoyed recently.....

SSSSSSSSSSSSSS.......... Mirchi Wadas.

The pictures are actually self explanatory....

Step 1 : Preparing the Filling.

Step 2 : Getting the chilli's aka mirchi's.

Step 3 : Mirchi + Filling = Stuffed Mirchi's

Step 4 : Making the batter.

Step 5 : Getting the right consistency.

Before the Mirchi's take a dip in the batter.

Step 6 : The dip.

Step 7 : Frying it at the right temperature.

Step 8 : Taking the wada's out of the pan at the right time.

Waaala the yumm Mirchi Wada's..... ssssssssssssssss

I heard about them the first time one day before i left for Jodhpur.

It was a very special day. I had just abruptly told my boss in the morning, "Instead of tomorrow, today will be my last day at work. I have a couple of friends leaving early and i intend to join them in the journey." My boss thinking it was me asking for his approval finally figured it was fruitless to convince me in staying back. We parted ways that day, with him saying, "It's certainly my Loss".

It was also the day we were shotting on Floor 5, Filmcity. Hence I decided to leave early and bid the whole crew a final
Goodbye.

I have to admit the only thing that I knew I was going to miss real bad was the crew. I felt very cared for and loved by every crew member right from the Director Of Photography to each and every spot boy, from the sound engineer to the celebrity make up artist, from all the cameramen to every musician, I saw faces that genuinely told me they were going to miss me...

It was then when I went to meet The Great English Master..

Anand Sharma.

We shared a very special bond when we went to Jaipur for one of our ground events. We slacked off in the morning and rushed to Amber fort.
Him for his love of praying and me for my love of architecture.
I went to a temple after ages because of him. He... A firm believer in God and a man with an amazing voice. I had heard him sing earlier at one of the pronites at Mood Indigo not believing my eyes that it was him on stage... but that day in the temple he completely blew me away with the Bhajan he sang. Something deep inside stirred that day in the temple. It had been a while since any song had done this to my heart and mind. The word 'this' in the previous sentence I cannot explain but it had certainly been a while that a song had given me any goosebumps. The pandit in the temple was also awestruck. He somehow found him familiar. Apparently Mr. Sharma's grandfather (Pt. Jasraj) used to visit this temple from time to time and sing there as well.

Our special bond did not just end with our love for Music, Art, Architecture or the Piano we were also big time vegetarian Foodies.

When I went to see him on my last working day, I also informed him about my little trip to Jodhpur. It was then he told me that I just had to try out the Mirchi wada's from Janta Mishtan Bhandar. What he asked me next confirmed the fact that he just beats me down as a foodie. He asked me how I was commuting back to Bombay. When I told him it was still undecided... he earnestly hoped I was going to catch a flight and pack a few Mirchi Wada's for him :)
