Thank you for the music

Gone are the days when I had to rely on my cassette collection (rather my mother's casette collection) or wait for Channel [V] / MTV to play my favorite songs. I remember waking up to MTV's "Rewind" every morning, which seemed like a punishment at the time. My mom would try to wake me up every morning with no luck and so she started blasting the TV early morning to make it impossible for me to sleep.

Now-a-days Pandora on shuffle does a fantastic job of assembling music that I have been fond of since I was a child. It's funny how we associate certain memories to particular songs and when you hear a song after years that memory comes up as if it happened just yesterday! I recently heard "Edge of seventeen" and the power the song had on me was as strong as the time I rode to school in the harsh rain while singing it!

I never had a true answer for "what I wanted to be when I grew up." After a series of odd jobs through college when the time came for me to decide a career I was totally confused. In hindsight, I have never been one to follow convention though I did try three years at Mathematics, miserably I might add! I narrowed my interests down to either taking up tv production or working on concerts. I grew up listening to music and watching TV- so it seemed only natural to make a living out of my two loves. I really wanted to work on concerts, music had been my life! But alas, bands that I was fond of had a handful of concerts in India. So I turned my sights onto television. As luck would have it the first show I ever worked on dealt with music. It solidified my love for Bollywood music! The show I currently work on has grown my love for Country music, Bluegrass and Americana.

Now I would love to think my career choices were as calculated as it sounds here but as luck would have it I have been brought to a rare cross-section in my industry and I couldn't have planned it better!

I am truly thankful for the music in my life.

Feelin' So Good !! Really ???

For some strange reason I find myself listening to Jennifer Lopez.

Gowardhan inferred it could be the fact that its women's day and hence i might be in the mood for all that. I 'ld rather agree and not dig too deep.

I guess the last time i was listening to her sing was when she topped the Billboard US Charts, I remember Desire would help me make it just in time to catch the Top song every saturday 5 p.m. after extra class. I was a weird kid, more proof here

And now its Dido, I bet I can safely blame it on women's day.

Fine line.

There is a fine line, between recklessness and courage
It's about time, you understood which road to take
It's a fine line, your decision makes a difference
Get it wrong, you'll be making a big mistake

You know you and your job are a bad fit when every single night you worry about the decisions you made through the day, whether they were ethical and moral.

You know its time to call it quits when it gets you to argue your way out to the dark side.

But once the decision is made you wonder if it was the wisest thing to do.

Anyway whats done is done, the fact remains click here

Walking Away

When I heard Craig David singing Walking Away
I never knew i would relate to the song someday

Somethings are just not right or meant to be
and the truth is right there but one cannot see

Indeed this was how we said goodbye
and all i can do is *sigh*
